Extra patrols to tackle anti-social behaviour in Park Hill

Night-time patrols and operations have been taking place in the Park Hill area of Sheffield over the last few weeks as neighbourhood officers work to tackle anti-social behaviour.

Night-time patrols and operations have been taking place in the Park Hill area of Sheffield over the last few weeks as neighbourhood officers work to tackle anti-social behaviour.

South Yorkshire Police's Sheffield South East Neighbourhood Team have been working alongside Sheffield City Council and British Transport Police in a move to deter ASB and disrupt drug use.

Sergeant Tom Hollands from the Manor and Arbourthorne Team said: “Park Hill is a vibrant and great part of the city and we want it to stay that way.

“In the last few weeks my team have been carrying out extra patrols at key times, including late at night, to deter criminal activity.

“Last weekend my officers were out on foot, stop searching people and checking vehicles. On Saturday night a man was arrested by our special constables, on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs and it’s this type of action which will make a difference.”

Officers have also been working closely with Sheffield City Council, who have recently installed a new CCTV camera and street lighting on South Street.

Parking services have also been joining officers to deal with complaints and the council have also been ensuring abandoned and disused buildings are secure.
